We’re pleased to share the successful completion of the 25 Grosvenor Street redevelopment in Stalybridge, delivered on behalf of Great Places Housing Association in partnership with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.
This project has transformed a compact town centre site, previously occupied by a retail unit, into 17 high-quality supported living apartments, complete with communal facilities and designed around accessibility, safety and long-term independence.
Appointed as Employer’s Agent and Principal Designer via the Innovation Chain North (ICN) framework, the WhiteleyEaves team supported the scheme from early design considerations through to handover. Our role focused on ensuring clarity, compliance and client assurance throughout the 103-week programme.
Working alongside Pioneering Contracting Ltd, the project involved the demolition of the former retail unit and the construction of a distinctive triangular-shaped four-storey building, created to maximise the potential of a highly constrained town centre footprint. All properties were completed to EPC B rating, contributing to long-term energy efficiency and affordability.
The development also includes DDA-compliant features such as level access and mobility-friendly shower rooms, ensuring the high-quality supported living scheme can fully support residents with varying needs.
Projects like this highlight our commitment to delivering thoughtful, accessible and well-designed supported living provision. We are proud to have contributed to a development that will offer safe, modern and sustainable homes for the Stalybridge community.
